Still waiting to hear back from certain employers. Getting more and more nervous... it's almost the end of the month and I have virtually no money... at least not enough for rent. The anxiety is tearing me up inside. Every day my stomach is in knots. There are times when I just want to break down and give up completely, but I come back from it. It's been nice hanging out with djinnethGwynne and angry_wolfCarl recently... they've been very helpful in helping me not feel so lonely and depressed as I otherwise might feel. Thank you both! The only other thing of note is that yesterday my back seized up while i was walking and I felt a jolt of pain. It's better now, but damn that hurt.

I watched The Mighty Boosh, which the (fairly) infamous Old Gregg/Love Games episode is from. Pretty funny, but it seemed like it got better with each episode. Or at least more bizarre. Stargate Atlantis continues to be totally awesome, and with the 4th season comes many changes... looks to be like an interesting season. Movies I have recently seen include "District 9", which rocked, and "Inglourious Basterds" which I have to say is Quentin Tarantino's best film in many ways. I loved "Pulp Fiction" and the rest, but this one really felt epic and just plain brilliant. I think it could win an Oscar or three. Go see it! As for the rest of the year, I'm looking forward to "The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus", "Avatar", "Zombieland", and "9". Oh, and Carl introduced me to the comedy of the funny and fluffy Gabriel Iglesias. A couple of music videos I'd like to share... first, the new song by "Weird Al" Yankovic called Ringtone. Second is Do You Wanna Date My Avatar? by the cast of The Guild, which includes the lovely Felicia Day (whom I met at Wondercon earlier this year). If you're a World of Warcraft player (and I know there are a few of you out there) you should check this out.

It's here! You can now purchase the new single CNR from Amazon.com!

You can also watch the Jib Jab video below:

After listening to it, I am hereby saying this is my favorite of the Internet Leaks so far.

As I mentioned previously, "Weird Al" Yankovic will be releasing his new song Craigslist on Tuesday. I found the lyrics, and here they are: )

    Update 15 June 2009 / 11:43 AM - Here's the video:

    • Working six days a week now... my day off will be partially spent sleeping.

    • Watching the Futurama movies via Netflix... I think I am going to have to own all Futurama DVDs.

    • Ripping my CDs and loading them onto my MP3 player... I realized that a bunch of my favorites weren't even on my computer - that needed to be rectified!

    • Waiting for certain movies to come out: "Transformers 2" & "Harry Potter 6" to name a few. Of course certain other movies on DVD such as "Watchmen" and "Star Trek" are definitely on my must buy list.

    • Also waiting for the Can't Stop The Serenity/Dr. Horrible screening. Got some people to go... looking forward to it.

    • Also also waiting for the new single by "Weird Al" Yankovic which is coming out on 16 June. Three more days! Whatever You Like and the new song, Craigslist, will be on the new album that he's working on.

    • Trying very hard to not have caffeine. I gave it up about a month or so ago, and have slipped up a few times, but I am denying myself that particular addictive substance.

"Weird Al" Yankovic comments on the current economy with his new single Whatever You Like, a parody of T.I.'s song of the same name:

Whatever You Like song and lyrics... )

You can buy the song on iTunes (or ask me to email it to you...)

    • I turned in an app to a toy store that is opening in the same mall where i work now. It looks very promising... fingers crossed.

    • Yesterday was Inked Books. We were going to talk about Kingdom Come, which I had re-read the day before. Not a single person showed up. {sigh}

    • I had a really good talk with Gwynne last night... well, she did most of the talking, but I needed to listen anyway.

    • I will be getting off of work at 3 tomorrow (managed to trade shifts) and heading straight down to the San Mateo County Fair to wait for "Weird Al" in concert. Can't wait!

    • On 30 September I will get up early and head to Target and pay what they ask for the 2 disc Iron Man DVD with much happiness in my heart.

So last night after work I met up with Gwynne, Lloyd, and Darcy to watch "Pineapple Express". Damn that movie was hilarious. I mean a lot more than I had expected it to be. If you enjoy laughing go see it. There were trailers for a lot of movies that I want to see... "Eagle Eye", "Lakeview Terrace", "Hamlet 2", Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist , and "Yes Man" to name a few.

In other news I think I am coming down with a cold or something... ugh.

In other other news I am really hoping I can get Friday off so that I can see "Weird Al" Yankovic at the San Mateo County Fair.

Haven't posted in a little while because not much has been going on. Here's the latest...  )

So last night Gwynne picked me up from work, whereupon we braved downtown S.F. to get to the AMC 14. We got our tickets for the second annual charity screening of "Serenity", had dinner at Mel's, then went back to the theatre to stand in line. I sang along to The Ballad of Serenity and The Man They Call Jayne, as well as a few songs from the OMWF episode of Buffy. Finally they let us into the actual theatre and we were subjected to annoying static for awhile before the movie started. Of course it was as shiny as I knew it was going to be... fill an auditorium with Browncoats and show them anything by Joss Whedon (on his birthday no less) and it's pretty much guaranteed fun will ensue. After the movie was over we walked to Adam's car so I could retrieve my White & Nerdy hoodie (been without it since I saw those two episodes of Drive).

A few nights ago Gwynne and I were lucky enough to attend a free screening of "Ratatouille". When this movie comes out on the 29th I highly recommend taking a child or virtually anyone to go see it. Truly enjoyable.

I've been enjoying episodes of Arrested Development over the last few days. I didn't realize this was one of the funniest T.V. shows ever. Someone could have told me!

Oh yeah... I almost forgot to mention that mc chris has done a cover of "Weird Al" Yankovic's Dare To Be Stupid. It's not quite as good, but still... one of my favorite nerdcore artists doing a cover of my favorite parodist's song which is a style parody of Devo, one of my favorite bands, and add to that the original was used in the animated Transformers movie. Geekgasm!

So now I'm looking forward to "Transformers" on 2 July, a new They Might Be Giants CD (thanks for the link Carl!), then the new Harry Potter movie and book later that month. Today however I have work. Speaking of work and next month, Lee's is having a sale to celebrate our anniversary. Details will be posted soon!

Nerdcore Rising: The Movie is a documentary following nerdcore rapper MC Frontalot on tour, as well as appearances by "Weird Al" Yankovic, mc chris, MC Lars, the Penny Arcade guys, and others. Add that to the fact that Front's new album Secrets From The Future is supposed to come out on April 6th and that he might be showing up at APE, not to mention his mention in a Newsweek article, and I am a very happily nerdy Brand.
