I wasn't sure how they could top last week's episode of BSG, or at least stay consistently awesome. They frakking did. Oh, and who is that coming back in next weeks's episode? Only 6 more to go... {sigh}

When I got home from watching BSG I played some Ultimate Marvel Alliance on the ol' PS2. Actually finished one level I remember I couldn't beat 6 months ago, and now I'm moving on to a level that literally takes place in hell. Fun!

Looking forward to seeing "Fanboys" with angry_wolfCarl sometime this coming week. I've been wanting to see it for quite awhile (a few years or so), and it's finally been released. Let the Trek vs. Wars debate continue!

Alright... almost time to start work.

First of all, the new "Star Trek" trailer is online here, and it's not the bootleg... looks awesome! Next up, Robot Chicken aired a second Star Wars special, and it's online here. It's at least as funny as the first one.

Ok... now that that's out of the way, on to the update. I've been coughing non-stop for the past 2.5 months, and needless to say it is of the suck. In addition I've been feeling generally unwell the last week, although today I'm feeling much better. I did some housework but mostly relaxed, watched "Hellboy II" (took a nap between halves of it though). Looking forward to seeing MC Frontalot in concert on Thursday... he's playing at the Zen Lounge in Mountain View. I was going to go to the show in Oakland, but this one was just added, and I'd much rather go to the M.V. show as I can get off of work and take Caltrain one stop, have dinner, then see the concert. I am still going to go watch Nerdcore Rising in the city on Wednesday at 2 PM at the Red Vic. Oh, and last but certainly not least, what happened the evening of 4 November was so very awesome.

Alright, time to watch the Robot Chicken Star Wars 2 special with djinnethGwynne.

Ever wanted to make your own Star Wars crawl? you know, like these, but animated like in the beginning of the Star Wars films:

Well, now you can!

Update 22 August 2008 / 12:27 PM - On a whim I decided to check if the site was still active and read the following:

This site has been closed.

LucasFilm has asked us to remove this site. We have enjoyed seeing the tens of thousands of users over the past several days, and thank you for your interest.

The Emperor's Phone Call:

In case anyone forgot, the Robot Chicken Star Wars Special aired and is repeating every so often. It is of teh good. You can watch the entire episode here.

Oh, I am so seeing this next year: Fanboys - Four guys from the Midwest drive across the country to honor the wish of their dying friend: to watch "Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace" at George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch before the movie's worldwide release.

Cameos by Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Ray Park, and... William Shatner?!

here's the trailer, fanboy...

  • I spent my day off yesterday relaxing as much as possible. I did take the garbage and recycling out to the curb, but other than that it was pretty restful. I watched both volumes of the Star Wars: Clone Wars DVDs, which a coworker had lent to me and were pretty cool. I like the way that the end of volume two leads right into the beginning of Revenge of the Sith. Good stuff.

  • Just cleared up a misunderstanding with djinnethGwynne. It's amazing how much better we get along now that I communicate with her rather than shutting down. I hope I reassured her that there's nothing to worry about and that I love her.

  • Happy birthday to johnoJohnO! I met him through LJ and cons, and he's a good guy. Hope you have a good day, John!

  • I am looking forward to 4 October. It turns out that mc chris will be performing twice that day in S.F. First, at Isotope Comics around 8 PM for a free all ages show, then later that night at the Red Devil Lounge at 10 PM for the 21 and over crowd. Fortunately I get off work that day around 5 PM, so I should be able to make both shows with Gwynnie and possibly sausage_boyLloyd. Anyone else going?

Ignore that LJ title... it was a phrase I came up with last night for some weird reason and I decided to use it for tonight's post. )

This takes place about two weeks after "A New Hope"...

Lucas will give Star Wars fans a present on 12 September 2006...

I was going to use that title for a post last night, the content of which would have had nothing to do with said title. I'll just use it for my Valentine's day post instead... and let's see if I get the t-shirt now:

Or perhaps this one will do it... )

And here are some more!

So I woke up fairly early yesterday. Tried in vain to find a taker for my spare Wondercon ticket. Then I left shortly after my last post... )

Now I am about to leave for a day of working at the con... more to come!

As I said, we watched "Whale Rider" and enjoyed it. Of course, being who I am, I had to check out the IMDb boards on the movie afterward. I found this on one of the posts:

Does she get eaten by the whale? That would be cool. I missed the ending, but I was hoping.

To which I just had to reply:

No! Pai finds out that she's "the one" and that all of the Maori are really in a computer simulated world created by machines in order to use them as batteries! Her grandfather gives her a ring to destroy, and it will take two more movies to do that. She also finds out that the whale is her father, and she must battle him with a light-taiaha to finally overthrow the evil empire.

See what you missed?

I amuse myself sometimes...

Update 2:12 AM - Wow... turns out that the girl who plays Pai also played the Queen of Naboo in Star Wars 3! I hadn't even realized there was a connection when I posted that at the time!

Last night djinnethGwynne and I left the Burrow and shopped at Whole Foods for a bit, I got a pizza there and a natural sugar soda. We then got to the house where Gwynne's housesitting, and soon we were eating dinner and watching Star Wars 3 (which, as well as being one of the best of all six movies IMHO, sounds very nice on their sound system). After the movie we got into bed, played with their dog, who is a real sweetie, and then I read while Gwynnie slept (fortunately one of the kids that lives there owns all of the Harry Potter books so I was able to read a few chapters of book 6).

Today, after a yummy brunch at Jack In The Box, we did some shopping while trying not to get completely soaked by the rain. We stopped in B & N, Old Navy, Tower Tecords, Lee's, Longs, and finally Beauty World. Now Gwynne is making cinnamon ornaments for tonight's festivities... the smell is making me hungry.

In honor of the fact that I will be seeing clixnwhistlesmc chris in concert with djinnethGwynne and alotheriaSarah J. on 2 November, here's one of my favorite songs by him:

Fett's 'Vette by mc chris )

Update 9:15 PM - Okay... this is too weird. I'm watching the first of many Sealab 2021 episodes that Sarah J. brought over for us to watch, and this particular episode has the crew at an mc chris concert, listening to Fett's 'Vette! Can you say coincidence?! I mean, how often does that happen?! It's a sign!
brandeks: (star wars)
I was watching Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones tonight. I started it around 9 PM, and between pausing it now and then to explain some trivia to djinnethGwynne, the movie ended at 11:38 PM.

I just found that kinda funny...
brandeks: (star wars)
Through the magic of Fandango and MasterCard, djinnethGwynne and I (and hopefully angry_wolfCarl if he decides to join us) have tickets for the 12:01 AM showing of "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" at the Century 12 Downtown theatre in San Mateo.

Who wants to join us? Get your tickets now! Keep in mind that this is for the Wednesday night/Thursday morning show (18/19 May 2005). I am leaving work Wednesday afternoon and going straight to the theatre to ensure we have good seats... though I have it on good authority I may have help in that department. Anyone wanting to keep us company shall be very welcome.
